Leamouth Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning service terms document introductionThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Leamouth Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services, along with related treatments such as upholstery cleaning, stain removal, deodorising, and fibre care. By making a booking, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. They are designed to keep the service clear, fair, and practical for both parties. Where the phrase carpet cleaning services is used, it includes standard cleaning and any additional treatment specifically agreed in writing or verbally before work starts.

For the purposes of these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Leamouth Carpet Cleaners, while “you” and “your” mean the customer, client, or person placing the booking. These terms apply to all appointments unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. In the event of any conflict between a written quotation and these Terms, the written quotation will take priority only to the extent of that specific inconsistency.

Booking and quotation section for carpet cleaning termsWe reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of booking will apply to that booking unless a change is required by law. Customers are encouraged to read the terms carefully before confirming an appointment. Continued use of our service after an update will be treated as acceptance of the revised version, provided the change has been communicated in a reasonable manner.

Booking process begins when you request a quote, submit a booking enquiry, or otherwise ask us to reserve a date and time. Any quotation is usually based on the information you provide, including room sizes, fibre type, access, condition of the textiles, and any special requirements. If the details later prove inaccurate, we may revise the quotation, adjust the time needed, or decline the booking if the service requested is no longer suitable. A quotation does not secure an appointment until it has been accepted and confirmed.

Once a booking is accepted, we will confirm the date, approximate arrival window, scope of work, and any key assumptions. It is your responsibility to ensure the site is ready for the service, including clear access to the areas to be cleaned, available power and water where needed, and removal of fragile or valuable items. Where parking, lift access, security procedures, or entry permissions are required, you must arrange these in advance. Delays caused by inaccessible premises may result in additional charges or a shortened service.

Payment and cancellation terms for cleaning servicesWe may refuse, postpone, or cancel a booking where the property conditions are unsafe, the requested treatment is unsuitable for the material, or the customer has failed to disclose relevant information. We may also require deposit payment or pre-authorisation before attending certain larger or higher-risk appointments. Any changes to the original booking should be communicated as early as possible. If you request additional rooms, stain treatments, or extra services on the day, these may be accepted only if time and equipment allow.

Payments must be made in accordance with the quotation or invoice provided. Unless stated otherwise, payment is due immediately upon completion of the service. We may accept cash, bank transfer, card payment, or another method agreed in advance, but we are not obliged to accept every form of payment for every booking. Where a deposit is required, it may be taken to secure the appointment and will be applied against the final balance unless otherwise stated.

If payment is not received when due, we may charge reasonable recovery costs and interest in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable, or otherwise in accordance with the law. Any invoice dispute must be raised promptly and in good faith. You must still pay any undisputed portion of the invoice by the due date. We reserve the right to suspend future services until outstanding balances are settled.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, where relevant, may be inclusive or exclusive of VAT depending on the booking arrangement and our tax status at the time. Unless expressly agreed, quotations cover only the work described and do not include unforeseen extras such as extensive stain removal, specialist treatment, lifting and replacing heavy furniture, or repeated visits. Where a site inspection reveals the need for added work, we will explain the likely cost before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.

Cancellations and rescheduling are permitted provided notice is given within a reasonable period before the appointment. If you cancel with sufficient notice, any deposit may be returned or retained at our discretion depending on the cost already incurred in preparing for your service. If you cancel late, fail to provide access, or are not present when required, we may charge a call-out fee, an administrative fee, or a percentage of the quoted cost to cover lost time and expenses.

We understand that plans can change, and we will aim to accommodate rescheduling where availability allows. However, a request to move the booking does not guarantee a new date. If the appointment is rescheduled multiple times, we may treat the booking as cancelled and request a fresh deposit. We may also cancel or postpone a service due to illness, equipment failure, weather conditions affecting safety, building access problems, or any other event outside our reasonable control.

If we cancel for reasons within our control, we will offer a new appointment or refund any deposit paid for the cancelled part of the service, at your choice where legally required. If the cancellation is caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to accidents, road closures, severe weather, flooding, or supply interruptions, we will not be liable for losses arising from the delay, although we will try to rearrange the appointment promptly.

Liability for loss or damage is limited to the extent permitted by law. We will take reasonable care and skill when carrying out carpet cleaners services, but some risks cannot be eliminated, particularly where fibres are delicate, pre-damaged, poorly maintained, or previously treated with unsuitable products. You acknowledge that visible wear, pre-existing stains, pile distortion, dye instability, shrinkage risk, and hidden defects may affect the outcome. We do not guarantee complete stain removal, full colour restoration, or the reversal of prior damage.

Before cleaning, you should inform us of any known issues, including loose dye, moth damage, weakened seams, water damage, pet contamination, underlay problems, or prior DIY treatments. Failure to disclose such matters may void any claim relating to resulting damage. We are not responsible for damage caused by items left in the cleaning area, such as electrical equipment, ornaments, unsecured furniture, or valuables. Where furniture needs to be moved, this will only be done if safe and practical, and we accept no liability for pre-existing instability or hidden damage.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from a booking shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant service, except where a higher cap is required by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of business, loss of profit, or emotional distress arising from the service.

Liability and waste regulations in service termsWaste regulations apply to the handling, transport, and disposal of waste generated during the service. We will manage wastewater, residues, contaminated materials, and disposable cleaning items in a manner intended to comply with relevant UK environmental rules and local waste requirements. We will not knowingly discharge substances into drains, watercourses, or surfaces where such disposal would be unlawful or inappropriate. Where special disposal arrangements are needed, we may charge additional fees to reflect lawful handling costs.

If cleaning produces waste that is classed as controlled, hazardous, or otherwise regulated, you must tell us in advance if you are aware of it. This may include bio-contaminated materials, heavy chemical residues, or excessive contamination requiring specialist treatment. We may refuse to handle any waste that is unsafe, unlawful, or beyond the scope of standard Leamouth Carpet Cleaners operations. Any waste left behind by us will be removed in accordance with applicable environmental standards, subject to practical site constraints and service type.

You agree not to ask us to dispose of prohibited materials unless we have expressly confirmed that we are licensed and equipped to do so. Where the service involves items that must be bagged, separated, labelled, or removed by a third party, the responsibility for arranging such disposal remains with you unless we agree otherwise in writing. We may suspend work if we encounter waste conditions that create a health, safety, or legal concern.

Customer responsibilities include ensuring that the property is accessible, safe, and suitable for the agreed work. You should identify any risks, keep pets and children away from the work area, and protect or remove sensitive belongings where necessary. While we will use reasonable care, we cannot be responsible for items left too close to wet areas, chemical products, or equipment. You should also notify us of any allergies, sensitivity concerns, or ventilation issues before the appointment starts.

You must provide accurate information when booking, including the type of flooring, textile, and any known contamination, as these details affect the method used and the final results. If incorrect information leads to a failed visit, a reduced outcome, or extra time on site, we may charge accordingly. We also ask that you ensure there is a suitable level of heating or drying support where possible, as drying times may vary depending on fabric type, weather, airflow, and room conditions.

Final governing law and customer responsibility sectionComplaints and remedies should be raised as soon as reasonably possible after the service is completed. We will investigate concerns in a fair and proportionate manner and may request photographs, access to the area, or supporting information. Where a legitimate issue has arisen due to our fault, we may offer a re-clean, a partial refund, or another reasonable remedy, depending on the nature of the problem. Any remedy will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and without prejudice to your statutory rights.

Governing law for these Terms and Conditions is the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with a booking, quotation, invoice, or service provided by Leamouth Carpet Cleaners will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

These Terms form the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the booking, unless a separate written contract says otherwise. No person who is not a party to the agreement has any right to enforce any of its terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999, unless we specifically state that such a right is granted. If we choose not to enforce a right at any time, that does not mean we have waived it permanently.

Final provisions clarify that our failure to insist on strict performance of any part of these Terms does not prevent us from doing so later. Headings are included for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions for Leamouth Carpet Cleaners, including the booking process, payment obligations, cancellation rules, liability limits, waste handling expectations, and governing law.
